A Lack of Blogs

I had actually intended to post more blogs while here in Salt Lake, but as it turns out, good internet access has been a bit hard to come by, so I think I will hold off posting about the lectures that I went to until after I am back to Davis.

With that said I would like to make a general comment about the lectures at an ACS national meeting. I have come to realize that I prefer the smaller ones. At the smaller lectures, the research presented tends to be a little less refined, meaning that the interesting and unusual problems are often presented as well. At the larger lectures I think more refined research is presented and all of the idiosyncrasies of the work are glossed over, and that, at least for me, makes for a less interesting talk.
