Busy Month
I can’t believe it has been over a month since my last post. Life has been busy to say the least...
On the work side of things, drafts of several papers are now off of my desk, but I’m sure they will be back before too long. I now need to work on a poster for the upcoming National Organic Symposium that I will be at next Sunday in Boulder, CO.
I am also preparing for a summer trip to Europe, which will take me through several cities/countries. The schedule is pretty impressive so I’m listing it below.
First stop, Washington D.C. flight with a layover in Chicago, IL. I hang out there for a couple of days then it’s time to travel as a group (for the Lindau meeting of Nobel Laureates) on an overnighter to Zurich, Switzerland. Then we travel to Lindau, Germany (I’m not entirely sure how we get there, train, perhaps? It’s only a short jog (slightly) north east. There is a bit of travel associated with the meeting, but I know I end up in Munich, Germany, where I will split from the group to head on to Rostov-on-Don, Russia (with layover in Kaliningrad). I am there for a couple of weeks to work with some collaborators. Next, I leave Russia to head to Cardiff, U.K., with stops in Prague, Czech Republic, and Paris, France. I know, two layovers... trust me, no other good options. After a couple of days in Cardiff, it is off to London (via Newcastle) for a couple of days. London back to D.C., where I will spend a couple of days (probably just enough time to start reacclimating). Then back to Sacramento, CA via Chicago. All-in-all, I will be gone over a month, but it should be the adventure of a lifetime!
On the personal side of things, I just got a Canon XTi digital rebel (as an early birthday gift... since I have so much traveling to do. So I expect that I will have plenty of pictures to post in the near future.
Here’s to hoping it’s not another month before I have time to post again!
