Firenze a Roma

Today I moved from Florence to Rome, which shouldn’t be a big deal (it’s only about 1 h 40 m by train), but I showed up to the train station today to find absolute chaos. Apparently there was some kind of strike and about 1 out of every 5 trains was being cancelled. So I show up at 9:00 and get a ticket... the first available ride to Rome was at 11:33. So I have to sit around for a couple of hours, and hope that my train isn’t one of the several that is going to be cancelled (somehow they don’t really seem to know until the time the train is supposed to depart... you would think they would know at least a little bit before then). Luckily my train was not cancelled, so I took the ride to the Rome Termini station.
...after a somewhat round-about taxi ride to my hotel (first he took me to the wrong hotel...), I checked in and decided to go for a short walk. In a matter of about 2 minutes I stumbled on the Pantheon. After taking in just how amazing this building is I walked down to Piazza Novona, which had some amazing fountains and a bunch of artists selling paintings.
Be sure to check out some of my other pictures of Rome.
