Day One

The first day of travel was, well... long. I had to get up at 3 am to get to the airport on time. I flew from Sacramento to Chicago (O’Hare), where I had only a few minutes before I jumped on a plane to Reagan national airport. The 3 am wake up time got me in DC at about 4 pm local time.
I took a short cab ride to the hotel (L’Enfant Plaza Hotel), which is crazy expensive ($600/night!)... I guess that’s the price you pay for the location! I have most of the day off tomorrow, so I’m gonna try and make it to the capitol building, some of the memorials and some of the smithsonian museums. So I should have plenty of pictures to post soon.
A note on my posts during this trip: I intend to blog frequently, but I may not have internet access every day (they want $30/day here!?! forget that, most hotels provide it for free these days... and I know I’ll have access in Germany. So you might notice that I will go a few days before an update, but there will be a few entries in that time.
