Crazy Weather

The weather has been a little crazy in Salt Lake City. Yesterday it was about 72 degrees and sunny. Actually, as of midnight last night it was about 65 degrees, which I am sure was the high today because the temperature has been steadily declining since then. As of about 5 pm it was 35 degrees and raining. Looks like snow is in the future!

As far as chemistry goes today went pretty well. In a session all about the “s”: Sampson, Sarpong and Schwartz among others showed off interesting chemistry. Included was a ROMP procedure that produced perfectly alternating polymers, some interesting iodine chemistry and a chemist funded by the NFL (yes, the national football league)!
